This is the best ashtray in the world. I have bought two now. They are magnetic so they will stick to anything metal. The cover also keeps the smell at bay. It is absolutely my favorite ashtray.

Cool idea. Kinda weak execution.

The giant Pipe Spike is fantastic! And the whole thing seems to be odor-proof, which is nice. I don't use the bowl stand, but I'm sure lots of people do, so that's a thoughtful touch.

It's the materials that bum me out. The stainless body is super thin - you could easily crush it between your thumb and forefinger.

And the magnet? No! Not good. It looks like it was punched out of one of those black/dark brown sheets of refrigerator magnet that you use to display your kid's artwork. Adding even a small amount of weight to the unit (a handful of sessions) causes the ashtray to slide down my filing cabinet (or metal desk, or metal trash can... I tried it on several surfaces).

I love the design, and I am definitely enjoying using it. But I'd happily pay an extra $10 (or more) for a higher quality item... thicker stainless steel for the body, and a Neodymium magnet in place of the fridge magnet. Or... skip the magnet altogether and add a nice, thick rubber pad in its place. Since the magnet doesn't work as intended, this thing just sits on my desk (which is fine, it looks cool). I'm going to use a heat gun to remove the magnet and replace it with a 3/8" thick rubber gasket. That'll add some weight, and stability.

Again, I love the effort, and I'm enjoying the Mini Magnetic Ashtray. I'll happily order the higher-quality 2.0 version, if it ever comes out.
